Two women on their own continuous adventure, set out to inspire and document it here.

When the Mountains call…Bronte!

When the Mountains call…Bronte!

At 5 months old, Bronte met some sequoias. Jane was her first nanny that month while both Jamie and I went back to work, and as a celebration, we had a Perin vacation into Yosemite. Staying at Rush Creek Resort once more, we looked forward to swimming after a day of fun along hiking trails and within the valley. In the evenings, we enjoyed the spa and roasted marshmallows. While Jamie and I indulged in sleep, Jane and Jim took Bronte outside to discover the playground in the early morning hours. Our hikes were family friendly, at Mariposa Grove and within the Valley, with enough time to sit on trees for lunch and to breastfeed Bronte while enjoying the dramatic views.

Bronte is a natural explorer, and was along for the ride. She enjoyed pool time, watched the squirrels, and snoozed by the camp fires. She was attired with Yosemite hats and onesies, and looked the picture of hiking baby. She braved the cold water of the ravine that flows through Yosemite Valley, dipping her toes into its numbing current. She hiked Lower Yosemite Falls with Jane and Jim as Jamie and I went on a bike ride to Mirror Lake.

Biking Yosemite Valley was a new thing for Jamie and I, and it is something we are excited to do with Bronte one day. Parts of the biking trail are quiet and removed, and offer a peaceful aspect to such a busy and infamous place. Jamie and I would just lay down our bikes and frolic over bridges and streams. We are happy to return, when the mountains call out for Bronte once more.

Unfortunately Lemon wasn’t able to join us. So we had some cuddle time before we hit the road <3
