A Mishap in Mendicino

For our 12 year anniversary celebration, I booked a weekend glamp trip at Mendocino Grove. This I booked at the beginning of 2021, and we had months to prepare and plan for it. The weekend for it came, and we drove the 3 hours north of San Francisco, arriving late in the night only to find out I highlighted in my calendar the wrong weekend. I was off by a month.

I wish to stress how lucky we were that night, that the manager found an empty tent for us to stay in for FREE — we could not stay the weekend as they were fully booked out. We were encouraged to enjoy the heated bed, the free coffee in the morning, and the firepit. Baffled, and impressed at my complete disregard for dates, we cooked smores and warmed Boo Radley by the fire.

The next morning we spent the day around Mendocino before we had to drive back to the city. We picked sea glass from Glass Beach with Boo, and we walked around the small town in search for hot chocolates. For lunch we discovered Princess Seafood beer garden and continued to beach hop till we set off for home, not a bit displeased with our disrupted plans.
