Our Days at Ballyseede Castle

Our Days at Ballyseede Castle

Arrival at Ballyseede: September 20

Here are the photos of our days at Ballyseede Castle from our family and friends, as well as the unofficial wedding photos.

We look at these photos, so thankful for people like Aunt Peggy and a multitude of friends who captured our few days that we spent at the castle. Arriving here the day before our wedding, Jamie and I spent a lot of time taking in the thrill of something we have planned for years. The amount of photos we actually took were very small, and so these moments captured by everyone is that much more special.

Our rehearsal dinner was in a gorgeous green and gold dining room — fitting, as those were our wedding colors. We drank, ate, and basked in the beautiful grounds we were surrounded with. It was truly a time to glam up, and celebrate a time together. The following days were full of wedding activities. The day of the wedding Jamie and I did not see each other, where we indulged in facial masks and bath time. We got to ran amuck through the castle grounds, and visited the donkeys. Megyn was the pin that held me together. She gave me the shoes off her feet, steamed our wedding dresses, and Emma brought the music. Debbie and Jane ordered the champagne, and April ordered tea and sandwiches. We all had so much fun doing anything to enjoy the day, and by the time the wedding came, we were ready to dance and drink some more.

Outside the wedding events, we visited Cliffs of Moher, Dingle, and played around Ballyseede Castle. Lora and Scott found time to get lost on the Castle’s surrounding trails. Jim found his favorite tree to climb, Katie slipped into a nearby ravine, and Molly the Irish Wolfhound came to visit us during meals. Matt played the bagpipes as we all sat on the patio, while Peggy and Julia sorted out the remaining origami roses from the wedding day. During tour bus days, we photo bombed those that fell asleep, and listened to our driver, Kenny, tell us about Ireland’s history.

We all felt lucky to be in Ireland, to have no rain, and for Jamie and I, to be married.
