A Parisian Disney
It was a Disney first for us: Paris! And in all honesty, it exceeded our expectations.
Christmas at Disneyworld, when we went many years ago in Orlando, was beautiful. The “snow”, the themed parade, and mickey shaped Santas. But Disneyland Paris was Christmas to the tenth sugarplum. Every inch of it was garlanded, and the parades were multiple. A giant Christmas tree lighting ceremony brought Santa and Mickey together, and snow fell in accordance with the Christmas music. We ate Jambon-Beurre sandwiches and Mickey Mochas! We absolutely loved it! It was freezing, of course, and so we enjoyed hopping into the rides, shows, and shops frequently. Sleeping Beauty’s castle was interactive, so we got to run from dungeon to balcony and passed corridors of stained glass. The castle and the Christmas celebrations were what made Disneyland Paris one of our favorite parks. And like kids, we chased the parade until we got to see Santa wave. Just outside the park was a small Christmas market, where we purchased Vin Chaud, macaroons, and chocolate covered strawberries.
Paris turned out to be as magical as it was festive. Disneyland was stop number one, and we were soon to be dazzled by the Christmas that infused the rest of the city.
