Once Upon A Time, Carmel
Once upon a time, there were four jolly friends that did a weekend escape to Carmel-by-the-Sea. Teddy and Lilly came with Kathy and Jamie to a land far, far away (approx. 1.5hr from SF) to experience beauty and ease of a coastal town inspired by Hansel and Gretel. They built fires in their cottage, climbed onto low branches on nearby trees, and hunted chocolate bunnies before Easter Brunch. It was a delicious vacation, that tasted of salty ocean air and mimosas, and smelled of old books and locally made doggy treats. And as royalty tends to do, they lavishly spent an afternoon at Refuge Spa, hopping from one bathing pool to another as mini waterfalls fell onto our shoulders. Lemon joined in on the Carmel fun, and walked the sandy beach enjoying the sounds of the Pacific waters. She snuck into Easter Brunch with them under the guise of an accessory — it is common knowledge that even Cinderella hid sweet woodland creatures in the underskirt of her dress.
I know this picture that I have described painted a fairytale in your mind. And it is true, for they lived Happily Ever After with the memories of Friends-by-the-Sea.
