raining San Francisco Weekends
When it comes to day dates with the city, or with surrounding trails and mountain sides, we come armed with a camera and Boo. With the recent downpour of rain, we have had reason to hit the museums, Alamo Drafthouse Theater, and tried many new bars. And yet on the off days, when the sun shines and the grounds are softened and green, we seek the wide vastness that the surrounding trails provide. A quick escape from indoor inactivity and the busy streets of the city. Boo takes her time strolling along the paths, picking up sticks and resting beside a bundle of daffodils. We do not travel fast with her, but we get the calm pace of conversation and sight seeing. Jamie always with her eyes to the top of the mountain, or behind the lens of her camera.
Our trip to the Ice Cream Museum was a two hour trip of color vomit. We had ice cream, mochi, cotton candy, and more ice cream as we traversed the many rooms that glittered with unicorns and rainbows, small rooms of macaroons and cherries, and a jacuzzi of sprinkles. We were like children, ice cream smeared on our cheeks and swinging under an umbrella of candied bananas. And all because of the rain, we were able to explore more of the city and enjoy the moments when everything turns a fresh new color of green.
