A foggy day, In Alaskan Town

A foggy day, In Alaskan Town

Anchorage, Alaska!!

Alaska has been on our radar for awhile, especially since moving out West. We decided to pull the trigger, book a crazy amount of adventures, and invite Jamie's parents along for the ride.

Our first day in Alaska was, as we were told, truly Alaskan. We were not too sure what Alaska looked like, as rain and fog fell like a curtain over the mountainous backdrop that we were expecting. Locals welcomed us as they too hiked in the rain and mistiness. The excitement inside of each one of us could not let us be disappointed - we were in Alaska, the last frontier! And so we cut the hill climbing short, and went to spot some belugas at Beluga Point. Here the fog hovered, but high enough for us to get a glance at the beautiful coastal highway, lined with the scenic Alaskan railway.  No belugas were spotted, but a few seals rode the current quickly past us. Our chilly hands demanded us to go into Anchorage downtown, where we searched for appropriate footwear and tourist traps. We tasted Samovar tea at Kobuk coffee, walked along an outside market, and dined at Glacier Brewhouse. We were happy (especially Jamie and Jane in that moment as they devoured king crab legs),  even in the mist, realizing quickly that our planned days could quickly float away with the fog and the changing attitude that the Alaskan weather seemed to have. But, we were in Alaska...
