Christmas in San Francisco, What a lovely Place to Be
Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year for us. Since being in San Francisco we’ve acquired our Christmas staples such as seeing a broadway show of a Christmas rendition of Pride and Prejudice at the Marin Theater, attending the Dickens Christmas Fair, finding a tree at Alambras Tree Farm, seeing the tree lighting ceremony at Grace Cathedral, and visiting the life size gingerbread house at the Fairmont hotel. Kathy’s birthday also falls during this Christmas season which means ice skating, irish pubs, and high tea at the Palace Hotel is a must! We’ve also made new traditions the year such as dressing up as Santa and running around the city (yes, it’s a real race) , dressing Boo as Santa!, and cramming all of our friends into tiny, but lovely, apartment to roast chestnuts and make ordainments.
This time of year is so lovely and lively, especially our in festive city. Like the song says…
“Christmas in San Francisco
There is no place quite so dear
It’s the closest thing to heaven
How I wish that you were here”
(Christmas in San Francisco by Russ Lorenson)
Whatever traditions you may have, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
