Mother’s Day Magic

Mother’s Day Magic

I remember distinctly saying that I would not take Bronte to Disney until she can enjoy it. As a regular to Disney, Jamie and I have feared the stroller life there, however, the moment Bronte was born, that changed dramatically. The thought of going to Disney for mother’s day seemed the most special way to celebrate, and being in Disney with a ginormous stroller isn’t actually that bad!

First, we surprised Jane with the trip. We realized a weekend getaway, driving 6-8hr to LA, could be difficult with a 2.5 month old baby, but how can you understand a child without testing them? Luckily Bronte is an absolute angel, and slept most of the car ride down. On our way back from LA, she decided to have 4 poo blow outs, which we managed roadside style.

Being in Disney was great because we had family take the time to meet us there. Meredith, Tyler, and Ruby also came that weekend, and we all got matching shirts to parade around Disney in the most fun and obnoxious way. Even with Bronte’s age, we were able to ride a ton of rides - in Fantasyland, kiddos can be in your arms as you go through the animated rides. Already we were surprised at all the things we could do, and Bronte wasn’t over stimulated. She slept mainly, and played with her Jack Skellington toy. She officially met Mickey, who she has become mesmerized with.

At Harry Potter World, we did a lot of photos. Bronte wasn’t able to ride any rides with us, but she did experience Ollivander’s wand shop, though we will wait to get her fitted for her wand till she is older. We did plenty of spells, drank butterbeer, and bought Bronte her first quidditch outfit. At the Three Broomsticks, we sat for a while for Bronte to feed, thinking what better place for her be in than a wizard pub.

Bronte’s first official swim was at our hotel outside of Disney. She splashed around with her hands and feet with the biggest smile on her face - a natural water baby, which we were happy to discover. Meredith and Tyler brought Ruby out, who ended up being a little intimidated by the pirate ship, and preferred playing with her parents in the adult pool.
