Two women on their own continuous adventure, set out to inspire and document it here.

enough to fall for

enough to fall for

This is our first Fall while living in San Francisco! It has been eventful, to say the least. Weddings have taken us back East, while weeks were passed in ash from the horrific fires up north. We have started businesses together, signed up for more races, and gave momentum to our children's novel. And yet, with all the colorful chaos, we have been able to enjoy fall activites, and enjoying time with friends and family. Through the season we have explored more and more terrain within the city, and in its vein of festivity, this Fall has been that much more special.

To begin with, is our visit from Matt and Julie. While drank wine in Napa, ran a half marathon, and ate pizza and sausages, we enjoyed the calm chill atmosphere that the city is able to provide as well. With firewood and marshmallows we set up on the beach, drinking and telling stories. Boo had her ball, and we had beer and s'mores.

Fall really seemed to kick in when Renaissance Fest came to northern California. I had high expectations for this festival, what with being in California, and I was gladly met with the characteristic aires I imagined it. There was so much imagination, local sellers, and incredible guiness-raspberry concoctions to put you back in time with a twist. We loved how it was set up within a wooded area, and how everyone participated in the period clothing. We were in jeans, and completely out of place! Soon we bought flowers to put in our hair, watched Manly Men in Tights, sat for the fiddler, and felt right at home. Jamie hit the bullseye in axe throwing, and I didn't come close to the wall in javelin.

San Francisco Zoo was our stop for Octoberfest, with Octoberfest beer and german food as we went through and saw the animals!

Half Moon Bay brought the Halloween spirit with it as it hosted the Pumpkin Festival. Emmie and Robert met us there, and we looked at tiny glass blown pumpkins, terrariums, and ate pumpkin flavored everything. The town was all decorated, giving us a small town feel like something from the Gilmore Girls or even HalloweenTown. It was perfect!!

While in Ohio, we went to a pumpkin festival with Debbie and Bill on our way to the airport. It was a perfect event to end the weekend before Halloween with hayrides, corn mazes, cider, pumpkin frosted cookies, and of course, taking photos with scarecrows and sunflowers.

This Fall we feel most fortunate for our families, and for all the beautiful change that surrounds us.
