50 Shades of Green

50 Shades of Green

Tahoe in the summer is an array of greens. Take your pick - mossy drab, pickled pine, leafy lime, or succulent shade! You can honestly find a nail-color-name type of foliage throughout the mountains. This trip was an energetic frolic along the Five Lakes Trail, and jumped from rock to nettle laden path, passing lakes and enjoying the endless wilderness surrounding us. Boo was left cuddled in the cabin, and we later took her to a field near King’s Beach in order to play some frisbee. At night we made a steak dinner, opened some wine, and celebrated by the fireplace.

This post is late in coming - we visited Tahoe for Jamie’s birthday weekend. It’s changing color leaves brought with it a sense of Fall that home in the Mid-West always did, and it was a beautiful start to the holiday season for us. It was also when we were moving into our new apartment — nothing like a weekend getaway to run from the prospect of unpacking!
