Mother's Day, San Francisco Style

Mother's Day, San Francisco Style

It's official:  Debra and William Garvin stepped foot into San Francisco! For Mother's day we drove through the city together, and Jamie and I got to share a part of our 'new' life with her and Bill. The steep roads nearly made mom faint, and every mile we stopped for her to capture photos of the flowers and foliage. What I discovered about my mother is that she is delightful to play pinball with, and actually can wear sweaters (thank you San Francisco weather).  In Tiburon we ate at Sam's Anchor Cafe for a Mother's day brunch, and from there, with fudge in our pockets, we drove to Muir Woods, where we walked under gorgeous redwoods and marveled at the rawness of the thick forest. We then stopped by Fisherman's Wharf, picked up sunglasses and trolley tickets, and headed home for a home cooked meal and a game of Euchre! While mother broke our window shade (and threatened my shell display...just kidding mom!), we had a wonderful end of the day, and one in which Jamie and I miss already. It is rare that home is brought to us, and we enjoyed every second.

Before they left for the journey to So Cal, we ate at Finn Town Tavern in the Castro (highly recommend) and Chez Maman in Hayes Valley after downing disgusting frozen margaritas at the bar next door! Another game of Euchre ensued, but this time, with strawberries and chocolate dipping sauce. And just when you think things couldn't be more perfect...!

Love you mom and Bill!
